For November, we’re back to the Frontend with a CSS special.

On Thursday the 7th of November, we’ve got two local talents, Andrew Willis, and Ben Sterling taking the stage.

First up, Ben will be talking about “CSS Naming and Specificity”. A topic that’s often overlooked when dealing with CSS, but is often the cause of most of our gripes with it. Ben will be showing us some common pitfalls and how to solve them.

After a short break, we’ll be diving right back into CSS as we welcome back Andrew Willis and his talk, “Tailwind CSS and me”. As the title suggests, this talk is all about Tailwind CSS. The utility-first CSS framework that stays out of your way and makes developing your own designs much easier than your usual bootstrap framework. The approach it takes can be a little controversial, but once Andrew’s done you should have a good enough understanding of it to discuss it in-depth at the pub afterwards.
