Reacting to changeBamburgh House
This month we have Ben Cooper, he will show us the basics of Functional and Reactive programming, and how a major shift in JS is changing the way we use it.
Functional & Reactive programming is all around us now, but our resources still remain heavily influenced around the prototypical/object orientated bastardisation which is starting to fade as a basis to start a project of any scale in 2017.
Whilst still a necessary tool, more focus needs to be put on learning the paradigms which are so highly thought of in the JS environment now, and that’s what I want to show in this talk. We will go through how functional/reactive programming exists in the frameworks we love and use daily, as well as understand in a little more depth so we can programme more effectively.
An understanding of multiple paradigms is key for any developer working in the front end going forward, so let’s explore them further in a fun and digestible manner.
Tickets are up for grabs here 11:00 on the 22nd of February. Make sure you're on the mailing list and you'll get a reminder email on the morning of the 22nd.
