Opening Silos in Big Brilliant Corporations

TusPark

Nikos Tsouknidas and Joe Hart from the BBC’s GEL (Global Experience Language) team will be telling us about how the BBC is reinventing itself into a culture of embracing constant change and how they’re helping open the silos between teams. Their talk is fittingly entitled ‘Opening Silos in Big Brilliant Corporations’!

It’s almost comedic how fast web technologies change today. We always seem to be chasing the next new great (or cool) thing, and in some ways this isn’t always a forward movement but more of a spiral.

Technology doesn’t repeat itself, but it rhymes. In any big organisation like the BBC, the challenges of moving to a new standard are usually not technical – they involve many people, sharing, communication, and—as always in engineering—compromise.
